Chloé Powell - Program Coordinator

Chloé Powell is a 1st year medical student in the New Pathway Program at Harvard Medical School. A native of Detroit, Michigan, she received her BSE in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan in 2012. Before matriculating to HMS, she worked as a research assistant for one year at the University of Michigan Health System in the Department of Obstetric Anesthesiology. The following year, she worked at a clinical research assistant for the Inner City Asthma Consortium at the Washington, DC site to mitigate pediatric asthma in the inner city. Through her work with minority and underserved, urban communities, she is dedicated to eliminating health disparities, and improving access to care and quality of care for vulnerable populations.

 At HMS she is involved in numerous extracurricular activities. She is the Curriculum Committee Representative for the Class of 2018, an HIV Counselor through the HMS AIDS Action Initiative, a mentor through HPREP, and member of the Inter-Society Multicultural Fellows Committee. In addition to these responsibilities, she gladly serves as one of the Program Chairs for Student National Medical Association. Through this position, she coordinates interactions between the chapter, the HMS/HSDM study body, and the greater Harvard community to foster the mission of the organization. Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, she enjoys exploring the city, trying new cuisine, exercising, and listening to music.
